The menu for our Friday night Fundraiser is Kosher, Halal and Vegan

Hastings Jews for Justice is thrilled to announce a ‘Friday night Fundraiser’ on Friday 2 October at The Printworks, Hastings.

We will be serving up a traditional four course ‘shabbat’ meal that is kosher, vegan and halal, alongside some first class entertainment.

Food has always been at the heart of Judaism and for many of us, these dishes represent our shared past, our families and childhoods.

They also express the warmth and love of our community, and that is why we are so keen to share them with our community in Hastings.

The event will raise funds to support a young poet and trainee nurse Hala Mdukh in Gaza (pictured).

Hala's astonishing poetry has been published by the Hands Up Project - she is now studying nursing at Gaza University.

At times, it feels like we can do so little, for the many people suffering in Gaza, and worldwide, but, as it is written, “to save one life, is to save the entire world” so we are focusing, for this event, on one woman and this feels entirely right.
