About the Event
Entry is free but we will ask for a name and address on the door.
Please arrive promptly to ensure we can start on time.
We will be screening two films:
Sands of Sorrow made in 1950 by the Council for the Relief of Palestine Arab Refugees. The film was created to show 'the squalid living conditions in refugee camps, starving children, and emphasises the hopeless condition of the refugees.' A byline that, tragically, could have equally been written today.
The Palestine Laboratory illustrates how the dehumanisation of the Palestinian people over decades of a brutal occupation has been exploited for financial gain by Israel in its arms and surveillance industry. Jewish Australian journalist Antony Loewenstein investigates how cutting-edge military and surveillance technology is being used on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, before being marketed to international clients as “field-proven” and “battle-tested”.
This will be a chance to learn, listen,…
